Ramelow Manor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ramelow Manor is a mansion in Ramlewo , West Pomeranian Voivodeship, built at the end of the 19th century . In terms of art history, the castle is related to the neighboring Roman Castle .

The place was named after Johannes Romelo (1267–1303), who had a permanent house built in the place. From 1322 the village was fiefdom of the diocese of Cammin to those of Blankenburg , who had to give it back to the diocese in a dispute. Since the von Blenkenburg could not raise the compensation agreed to resolve the dispute, the village came to the Adebahr, to whom the place belonged until 1540. Afterwards the von Blankenburg owners were again, in the 18th century also those of Schweder for a time. As a result of the Napoleonic occupation , the property went bankrupt to a Mr. Pophal. From 1854 Wilhelm Flügge was the owner and divided the estate into Obergut and Niedergut. In the Niedergut, the manor house that is preserved today was built in the neo-baroque style, picturesquely situated in a park with a meadow and a pond. From the manor house to the street that leads from Niederdorf to Oberdorf, the farmyard with its neglected manor buildings extends today.
