The Coviriali district is located in the Satipo Province in the Junín region in central Peru . The district was established on March 26, 1965. It has an area of 97.6 km². The 2017 census counted 5778 inhabitants. In 1993 the population was 3457, in 2007 it was 5266. The seat of the district administration is the 700 m high town Coviriali with 312 inhabitants (as of 2017). Coviriali is located 4 km south-southeast of the provincial capital Satipo .
Geographical location
The Coviriali district is located in the northwest of the Satipo Province on the eastern flank of the Peruvian Central Cordillera . The Río Satipo flows north along the northwestern district boundary.
The Coviriali district is bordered to the west by the district Pampa Hermosa , on the north by the district Satipo , to the east by the district Mazamari and the south by the district Llaylla .
