Roman Castle

Roman Castle ( Polish : Pałac w Rymaniu ) is a castle in Rymań in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship .

According to tradition, the Manteuffel built two castles here beforehand . From 1743 the estate was owned by Ludwig Julius Seld, then owned by Johann Christoph Steobanus . The estate was a manor of the Pomeranian estates in the Fürstenthum district that was eligible for parliament .

The current castle dates back to a one-story mansion of the late baroque period of 1751, equipped with a mansard roof was covered. In 1851 Alexander Andrae acquired the estate, had the castle thoroughly rebuilt and new barns built. His daughter, the future writer Marie Andrae , grew up in Roman.

From 1918 Lothar von Dewitz was the owner, who also bought the two former Vorwerke Buchwald (Bukowo) and Starsberg (Starza) back into the estate.

The entrance to the manor house is in the three-storey middle risalit . Inside, the staircase, wall paneling, tiled stove and fireplace have been preserved in their original form.

Today the castle has been restored and is used as a hotel.
