history

Former manor

Buchwald appears for the first time in modern times as a fiefdom of the noble Manteuffel family , as does the neighboring town of Roman . On the Lubin map of 1618 the place is recorded as Bockwold . In the 18th century, the Manteuffels had to sell both Buchwald and Roman. Buchwald came to a Rittmeister von Schmeling , who later sold it to Christoph Steobanus, who had already acquired Roman. Buchwald and Roman came into one hand, whereby Buchwald was managed by Roman like a Vorwerk , but legally remained its own manor . In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current state of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Buchwald is mentioned by Roman among the noble estates of the Greifenberg district , namely as that which belongs to Roman "now, in a small wood of oaks and Buchwald located Vorwerk ”. In 1818 Buchwald, like Roman, was reclassified to the Fürstenthum district and when the Fürstenthum district was dissolved in 1871 it became part of the Colberg-Cörlin district .

Around 1900 the Roman estate was divided. Buchwald was sold separately and passed through several hands until it was bought in 1922 by Lothar von Dewitz , who had already acquired Roman. So until 1945 Buchwald was again managed as a Vorwerk of the estate in Roman. The last owner before 1945 was Lothar von Dewitz's widow.

Until 1945, Buchwald formed a residential area in the Roman community and belonged with this to the Kolberg-Körlin district .

After the Second World War , Buchwald, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland. It was given the Polish place name Bukowo .

Bukowo is now part of the Rymań Schulzenamt in Gmina Rymań .
