Borckenhof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Borckenhof was a residential area in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

The desert is located in Western Pomerania , about 80 kilometers northeast of Stettin and about 30 kilometers south of Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) , about 800 meters from the southeastern bank of Jezioro Studnica (Steudnitzsee) .

The living space was laid out around 1800 under the squire Johann Wilhelm Christoph Steobanus von Wriechen from Gut Roman . In Heinrich Berghaus' Landbuch (1867) "Borkenhof" is listed as one of Roman's two foresters.

Later the living space was also called "Forsthaus Popiel" (from 1870, not to be confused with the forester's house further west on Steudnitzsee, later also called Forsthaus Popiel ) or "Borkendorf" (1885). The residential area was given up around 1890, although it was still listed as "Forsthaus Popiel" in later maps.

In 1816 15 inhabitants were counted, in 1864, 1871 and 1885 6 inhabitants each.

Before 1945 the desert was last in the municipality of Reselkow .

After 1945, the area, like all of Western Pomerania, came to Poland . Today the desert lies in the municipality of the Polish Gmina Rymań (rural municipality Roman) in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship .
