Marie Andrae

Marie Andrae , married Trommershausen (born April 9, 1854 in Roman , Fürstenthum district ; † January 18, 1945 in Lübeck ) was a German writer , educator and nurse. She also published under the pen name Marie Andrae-Romanek .

Life

Andrae was born as the daughter of the manor owner and Bismarck friend Alexander Andrae and Helene, nee. Fledgled, born in Western Pomerania . She grew up in the country and was tutored by private tutors with her ten siblings. Later she went to a pension in Köslin . In 1880 she passed the teacher exams in Berlin and then worked as a teacher for two years in England and then for two years in Geneva at secondary schools for girls. In 1887, she took a six-month course for nurses from the Order of St. John in the Bodelschwingh Institute in Bielefeld and in a Bremen hospital. In 1888 she married the high school professor Ernst Julius Trommershausen in Frankfurt am Main . She later lived with her daughter Nora and her son-in-law Hermann Julius Hartwig in Lübeck until her death .
