The house with the address Herrenstraße 16 , also called Dieselhaus , is a three- story gabled house and is a listed building . It is located in Memmingen in Upper Swabia .

The house has five axes and was built in the 16th and 17th centuries. The portal is arched . The oak doors with simple fields and laurel garlands date from the end of the 18th century. In the stairwell, the oak railings are decorated with gothic, overlapping arches. There are small traditional costumes from the end of the 18th century on four posts.

The second floor has parquet floors with a cross pattern. The first floor of the rear building has two pillars with a cornice.

In 1510 the house belonged to Jakob Stoppel , a city chronicler. In 1799 it belonged to the mayor Jakob Benedikt von Zoller and in 1813 to the mayor Tobias von Wachter . The house belonged to Rudolf Diesel's grandfather , Johann Christoph Diesel, in 1886. It has been owned by the Kloiber family since 1972.
