Herrington Lake is a 9 km² man-made reservoir in Boyle County in the US state of Kentucky . With a maximum depth of 30 feet, the reservoir is the deepest in Kentucky.
It was created by a dam , the Dix Dam , on the Dix River shortly before its confluence with the Kentucky River . The hydropower plant on the dam is operated by PPL .
