The Herschel Heights are a group of nunataks in the southwest of Alexander I Island off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . They tower southwest of the Enceladus Nunatakker and near the head end of the Saturn Glacier .

The American polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth photographed its eastern section from the air on November 23, 1935. These aerial photographs were used by the US cartographer WLG Joerg for mapping. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1974 based on the naming of the Mimas Peak and the Enceladus Nunatakker after the British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel (1738-1822), who came from Germany and who discovered the moons of Saturn, Mimas and Enceladus .
