Hertzöga BK is a Swedish football club from Karlstad . The first team currently only plays sixth class, but was temporarily represented in the second division .

history

Hertzöga BK was founded in 1962. For a long time the team played only inferiorly. In the early 1980s they reached the fourth division for the first time and in 1990 they were promoted to the third division 2 Mellersta Svealand . The team was able to establish itself there and in 1992 they moved into the autumn round of the second division as spring champions. There, with only two wins, only the last place was occupied and thus the club played only third class again.

In 1993 and 1994, Hertzöga BK missed the rise as third in the table. This was achieved in 1995 as the season winner with eight points ahead of IFK Västerås and Enköpings SK . In Division 1 Norra , the eighth place in the table could be occupied. A year later, Södra only managed 11th place in Division 1 and Hertzöga BK had to compete in the relegation. Already in the first round they failed against Nybro IF after a 3-2 home win and a 1-2 second leg defeat due to the away goals rule and had to relegate to the third division. As fourth in the division II Västra Svealand , the club missed direct resurgence. Then they renounced the starting place in the league and entered the fifth-class Division IV Värmland the following year .

In order to make football more popular in Karlstad, a new club, Carlstad United BK , was founded after the end of the 1999 season , for which the best players from the clubs in the city should play. With the exception of Karlstad BK , the idea was supported by all clubs - including Hertzöga BK. So weakened the rest of the team could only occupy a relegation place, but succeeded in the following year return to the fifth division. Here the team established itself and won the season in 2004, returning to the fourth division. As table eight, the team fell victim to the league reform in Sweden and came into the new fifth division. There, however, the team rose directly from bottom of the table in the sixth division in 2006, where the team has been playing since then.
