Hervis is an Austrian sports retail chain and a subsidiary of Spar Österreichische Warenhandels-AG .

history

In 1973 the business of the German fashion merchant Herman Visser was taken over by the Austrian Spar Group. The name Hervis is made up of the first letters of the first and last name. A year later, two branches are opened in Innsbruck and Graz , which were initially pure fashion stores . It was only later that sporting goods were added to the range. In the 1980s, the implementation of the sports specialty store concept finally began by combining sports with sports fashion and sporty leisure fashion. In 2004 the Hervis SportsClub was founded, which it claims is the most modern CRM tool in the Austrian sports trade. In 2007 a Europe-wide customer club was introduced. In 2016, Hervis received the Austrian Retail Innovation Award in the “Best Omnichannel Innovation” category. With the award, the Austrian trade association honors the successful linking of all shopping channels (store, online, mobile) at Hervis.
