The Church of the Heart of the Virgin Mary ( Polish: Kościół Niepokalanego Serca Najświętszej Maryi Panny ) in Kraków is a neo-Gothic Catholic church at 6 Smoleńsk Street in the Nowy Świat district .

history

The church was built between 1882 and 1884 for the Sisters of St. Felix von Cantalice built by Feliks Księżarski , who had to leave Congress Poland after the January Uprising . The founder of the order, Blessed Maria Angela Truszkowska , was buried in the church. A student kitchen was housed in the monastery building. The Krakow Philharmonic is located on the monastery grounds .
