The Duchy of Klein Glogau (also Duchy of Oberglogau ) was established in 1425 as part of the Duchy of Opole , which had been a fiefdom of the Crown of Bohemia since 1327 . It existed until 1460 and was then reunited with the Duchy of Opole. The place of residence was the eponymous town of Klein Glogau (today Oberglogau in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland).

history

Oberglogau Castle

The partial duchy of Klein Glogau was spun off from the Duchy of Opole by Duke Boleslaus IV of Opole for his son Boleslaus V of the same name . He dubbed the Duke of Opole and Lord of Klein Glogau and Prudnik . After his death in 1460, the area was reunited with the Duchy of Opole, although the subsequent dukes Nicholas I and John II and his younger brother Nicholas II used the title of Mr. von Klein Glogau in addition to their title of duke .
