The Hessen-Darmstadt district regiment was a military unit that was established in Gießen in 1697 and was part of the Imperial Army as part of the Upper Rhenish District .

- 1701–1714: Participation in the War of the Spanish Succession , particularly in the battles for Landau in the Palatinate , under the regimental commander Hartmann Samuel Hoffmann von Löwenfeld (1653–1709)
- 1733–1735: Participation in the War of the Polish Succession
- 1747–1749: in Dutch service
- 1756–1763: Participation in the Seven Years War
- 1796 incorporated into the "Landgraf" regiment as 2nd battalion
