Hessian teaching academy

The Hessian Teachers Academy is the training authority for the educational preparatory service in Hesse . It works towards improving the quality of schools and advises the Hessian Ministry of Culture on measures to further develop the school system.

tasks

  • Qualification of the training staff at the Hessian study seminars
  • Further education and training measures for schools and teachers
  • Qualification of teachers for advisory and advanced training activities as well as for special school development projects
  • Technical supervision of the Hessian media centers

The legal basis for the establishment of the Hessian Teachers' Academy is the "Law on the Restructuring of the Hessian Education Administration", which the Hessian State Parliament passed on March 24, 2015.

Departments

The focus of the Division I standing teacher training in Hessen (studies and preparation service) and internal and external evaluation of schools. The tasks include:

  • accompanying the concept development (I phase of teacher training, II phase of teacher training, evaluation),
  • communication with the department heads to ensure quality development and the interlinking of the departments' areas of responsibility.

The Hessian Teaching Academy includes the five examination centers in Darmstadt, Frankfurt am Main, Gießen, Marburg and Kassel for the first state examination at the Hessian universities as well as the study seminars for the implementation of the educational preparatory service in Hesse, which is concluded with the second state examination .

Weaving The main focus of department II is the professionalization of Hessian teachers and the qualification of school managers. In addition, the focus is on the further development of curricular principles and the Hessian core curricula .
