The Hessian Yearbook for Regional History (abbreviation: HJL ) is an annual history magazine published by the Hessian State Office for Historical Regional Studies in cooperation with the Working Group of the Historical Commissions in Darmstadt , Frankfurt , Marburg and Wiesbaden .

The journal contains scientific articles on Hessian and comparative national history , reviews with references to specialist publications as well as the annual activity reports of the Historical Commission for Hesse, the Hessian Historical Commission Darmstadt, the Historical Commission for Nassau and the Hessian State Office for Historical Regional Studies.

The first volume appeared in 1951.
