Françoise Hetto-Gaasch (born May 21, 1960 in Dudelange ) is a Luxembourg politician of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV).

Life

After attending the Lycée Michel-Rodange , she became a teacher. From 1981 to 1993 she worked for a charitable foundation of the Red Cross. Hetto became better known in the 1990s as a regular presenter on RTL Radio Lëtzebuerg , where she worked from 1992 to 2004.

In 1999 Hetto joined the CSV and was elected to the municipal council of her place of residence in Junglinster that same year . In 2004 she received the most votes and would have been entitled to the office of mayor, but let Denis Dimmer go first. She became mayor in September 2007 and remained in office until July 2009. In 2004 she was elected to the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies for the first time . She was re-elected in 2009 and 2013, but renounced her mandate as she became Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Tourism and Minister for Equal Opportunities in the Juncker-Asselborn government . After the CSV was no longer involved in the formation of the government after the elections in 2013, it moved back to the Luxembourg parliament as a member. She is a member of the Economic Committee, the Committee on Family and Integration and the Committee on Education, Children and Youth. Hetto-Gaasch has been deputy party chairman of the CSV since 2014.

Françoise Hetto-Gaasch is married and has two children.
