Heyno Sobbe (* in Lübeck ; † June 11, 1416 ibid) was a German goldsmith.

Life

Heyno Sobbe was the son of a Lübeck citizen of the same name. Since 1405 he had been part of the hard core of the city's citizens who rebelled against the old council of 1408. He was a member of the Finance Committee, the Negotiating Committee and the Committee for the Election of the New Council. In 1407 he represented the citizens of the city before the Imperial Court of Justice in Heidelberg. He is only verifiable as councilor in the New Council in the years 1410 to 1412 and represented the city on December 13, 1410 in the negotiations with the Wendish cities and the conclusion of the coin recession of the Wendish Mint Association . In the wills of Lübeck citizens he is listed several times as a documentary witness from 1410–1412 . In 1415 he belonged to the group of citizens who had to agree with the New Council about an embassy to be sent to King Sigismund . In 1416, when the return of the Old Council became foreseeable, it unsuccessfully organized a craftsmen's revolt to prevent this. At the request of the imperial ambassadors he was arrested and executed on June 11, 1416 in Lübeck.

From 1402 to 1407 Sobbe lived in the house at Königstrasse 72 , which his wife had brought in as a marriage property, and from 1407 in the house at Königstrasse 107; he owned a tree garden in front of the Hüxtertor and one in front of the Holsten Gate .
