content

Jeremiah Jones tries to convince his wife to flee to his camp before the coherence, which he does not succeed at first. However, after she is attacked by the coherence and it only escapes through a task force assigned by Jeremiah, she changes her mind.

Meanwhile, Christopher feels more and more like an outsider in camp and finds the primitive survival difficult. His father, torn from coherence, finds his way back to himself during this time. He can give the group and Christopher useful information about the coherence, such as that they are planning to trap Christopher and that the defect on his chip is caused by two pins removed from him.

In the camp, the plan is developed to make the existence of coherence public. To this end, Madonna drives Two Eagles, an Indian girl and a talented singer, to an internet café with Christopher. From there he wants to send out a mass mail with the help of another hacker, called "Pentabyte Man". To test how many people even notice the mail, he inserts a link to a music video from his friend Madonna, as this makes it easy to monitor the views.

At the same time, news reaches the camp that both the camp and their FBI informant have been blown, whereupon it is immediately disbanded and Kyle, George and Serenity drive to Christopher and Madonna. They appear shortly after Christopher was attacked by a virus of coherence as a result of the restored cellular network and only saved by a spontaneous kiss from Madonna.

The small group then tries to reach the meeting point agreed with the other camp residents, but does not manage to do so in time, as the virus tries to reconnect Christopher's chip to the coherence and he can therefore only stay in areas without a mobile network. Meanwhile they hear on the radio that the video of Madonna is now world-famous and that the artist is now looking for. Meanwhile, Jeremiah's group has to flee again because the police have learned of the meeting point.

Christopher devises a plan, secretly drives off with George, and leaves Kyle, Serenity and Madonna a message to go to Seattle and make Madonna a music star so she can tell the rest of the world about the coherence.

After unsuccessful attempts to win over the independent media, the camp residents found accommodation on the farm of an old friend of Jeremiah. Meanwhile, Christopher and George are with a friend George's on an Indian reservation and Christopher hacks his way into a Korean server, on which he suspects the blueprints for the chip based on the chip name and Pentabyte-Man's search engine. After receiving and analyzing the plans, he realizes that the coherence has made a mistake in the chip design and by implanting a second manipulated chip he can gain much stronger skills in the field of coherence and cancel the effect of the chip.

Meanwhile, at Madonna's insistence, Kyle calls Zack von Horn, the music producer, during the drive to Seattle, which turns out to be a mistake, as the coherence is already waiting for them. After George and Christopher were found by upgraders and could only escape through a secret ceiling hiding place, they are caught on the run by two upgraders in a sawmill. The two upgraders die in an accident, allowing George and Christopher to escape.

George implants a second manipulated chip in Christopher. Kyle, Madonna and Serenity are locked in by coherence when they arrive at Zack van Horn and can only escape with Zack van Horn and his wife thanks to Christopher's help and through his new skills. They find out that Zack von Horn is on the board of directors of the American independent media, so he can very well help them expose coherence. They also learn that the camp residents were housed in an old nuclear shelter from the Cold War era, called "Hide Out".
