Hideaki Nagai ( Japanese 永 井 秀 昭 , Nagai Hideaki ; born September 5, 1983 in Ashiro , Iwate Prefecture ) is a Japanese Nordic combined athlete .
Career
Although he had not yet contested a World Cup, he was nominated for the Nordic World Ski Championships in Sapporo in 2007 and was used in the team competition on the large hill. Together with Taihei Katō , Akito Watabe and Norihito Kobayashi , he finished eighth on February 25, 2007.
In the 2011/12 season he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup and finished 31st in the World Cup in Val di Fiemme on February 3, 2012. Two days later he collected his first World Cup points with 18th place at the Gunderson competition on the large hill. In the overall ranking of the 2011/12 season, he finished 49th with Jim Härtull with a total of 24 points .
He was nominated for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme and used in the Gunderson competitions on the large hill and the normal hill. In the competition on the normal hill he took 18th place and in the competition on the large hill he took fifth place. In the overall ranking of the 2012/13 season , he finished 23rd with 220 points.
On December 1, 2013 he took his first podium in the World Cup together with Taihei Katō , Yoshito Watabe and Akito Watabe . In the team competition on the large hill in Kuusamo they took third place behind the Norwegian and German teams. During the season he collected a total of 126 World Cup points and finished 29th in the overall standings.
