Hideki Nagai ( Japanese 永 井 秀 樹 , Nagai Hideki ; born January 26, 1971 in Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player and coach.

Career

Nagai learned to play football on the school team at Kunimi High School and the college team at Kokushikan University . He signed his first contract with Verdy Kawasaki (today: Tokyo Verdy) in 1992 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . With the club he became Japanese champions in 1993 and 1994 . In 1992, 1993 and 1994 he reached the final of the J.League Cup . In 1995 he was loaned to the second division club Fukuoka Blux . In 1996 he was loaned to the first division club Shimizu S-Pulse . In 1996 he won the J.League Cup with the club. In 1997 he returned to Verdy Kawasaki . In 1998 he moved to league rivals Yokohama wing . In 1998 he won the Kaiser Cup with the club . In 1999 he moved to league rivals Yokohama F. Marinos . In 2001 he returned to Tokyo Verdy . In 2004 he moved to Ōita Trinita . He then played at FC Ryūkyū and Tokyo Verdy. At the end of 2016, he ended his career as a football player.
