Hideo Miyata

Hideo Miyata ( Japanese 宮 田 英 夫 , Miyata Hideo ; * 1943 ) is a Japanese jazz musician (soprano and tenor saxophone, flute, also harmonica, percussion).

Miyata played in the Japanese jazz scene from the mid-1960s a. a. in the bands of Sadao Watanabe , with whom the first recordings were made at the end of 1966 (Jazz & Bossa) , also with Masabumi Kikuchi , Kazuo Yashiro and Yoshiaki Masuo , in the following decade also with Ryo Kawasaki , Terumasa Hino , Yoshio Suzuki , Kohsuke Mine , Mikio Masuda , Hideto Kanai (Ode to Birds) and Masahiko Togashi . With Kikuchi he played in 1972 in Gil EvansOrchestra. In the field of jazz he was involved in 32 recording sessions between 1966 and 1977.
