High-speed Sea Service (HSS) is the name originally for Stena Line developed fast ferries . Six units were ordered, two of the type HSS 900 and four of the type HSS 1500, which were built from 1994 to 1998. All HSS 1500 ferries were built at Aker Finnyards in Rauma , Finland . The HSS 900 ferries were built by Westermoen Hydrofoil in Norway, which went bankrupt in 1997. HSS 1500 meant a capacity for 1500 passengers, HSS 900 meant a capacity for 900 passengers.
