Hilar Gese

Hilar Gese (born before 1969) is a former German- Czech basketball coach and player.

Life

Gese was temporarily a member of the national basketball team of Czechoslovakia . In 1968 he did not return to Bratislava from his summer vacation in Romania , but went to Mannheim with his wife because of the tense situation in his home country . From 1969 he played for the Bundesliga club USC Heidelberg . In the game year 1969/1970 he was with the team second in the German championship. In 1971 he took on German citizenship. In 1973 the winger with strengths in distance throwing with the USC won the German championship title. In 1971 and 1972 he played seven senior international matches for the German national team. In the 1973/74 season, Gese , who had a degree in engineering , was suspended for professional reasons. From 1974 he strengthened the Bundesliga competitor 1. FC Bamberg after he had moved to Bamberg for professional reasons . He played for FC until 1977.

He switched directly to the coaching business and took over the office in Bamberg in the run-up to the 1977/78 game year, looking after the team in the Bundesliga and in the European Cup. But in early December 1977 Gese resigned as coach shortly after defeating leaders MTV Gießen , as he saw himself exposed to unjust criticism.

Gese later worked on the board of TTL Basketball Bamberg.
