Hilde Seiler

Hilde Seiler (born April 6, 1931 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and vice-president of the ÖGB . Seiler was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1988 to 1994 .

After attending compulsory school, Seiler learned the trade of industrial clerk and worked as an accountant at WITAX between 1957 and 1968. She then worked between 1968 and 1983 as the secretary of the chemical workers' union.

Seiler was involved as a works council chairwoman at WITAX between 1955 and 1957 and was then works councilor for the chemical workers' union from 1966 to 1969. From 1971 she also acted as a chamber councilor in the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Vienna and was also a member of the board of this body from 1983. From 1981 she was also a board member of the pension insurance institution for workers and from 1983 a member of the presidium, the federal board and the tax commission of the ÖGB. Between 1983 and 1991 she held the function of chairwoman of the women's department of the ÖGB, and between 1983 and 1991 she was vice-president of the ÖGB. Seiler represented the SPÖ in the National Council between October 15, 1988 and November 6, 1994.
