Hildegund Schuster (born 1954 in Peine ) is a German painter from Hamburg. She mainly paints murals and is involved in the women's movement.

biography

Hildegund Schuster, born in Peine in 1954, has lived in Hamburg since 1959. She is a trained educator. From 1978 to 1983 she studied at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in the design department with Friedrich Einhoff and Gisela Bührmann . She graduated as a graduate designer. This was followed by a few more semesters of art history.

Since 1984 she has been working as a freelancer in the arts and arts education. The focus is on wall paintings, mostly in public spaces. For the long-term project “Women's Work in the Port of Hamburg” she created several wall paintings for the “FrauenFreiluftGalerie”. Hildegund Schuster has a teaching position for art and works, led courses in town houses, at the adult education center and in the museum education of the Hamburger Kunsthalle.

  • 1997: Mural "Demonstrants", Große Elbstraße 164
  • 2015: Mural "Women in the fish industry and at the fish market, 2015", Große Elbstraße 268

Together with Ursel Scheffler , Hildegund Schuster is the author of the book "Bei der Arbeit" (1994) ISBN 978-3473335596
