Wolfgang Bechtoldt

Wolfgang Bechtoldt (born March 4, 1922 in Frankfurt am Main ; † October 1, 1986 there ) was a German physician and specialist in orthopedics .

Life

Bechtoldt studied medicine from 1940 to 1948 , passed his state examination in 1948 and received his doctorate in 1950. He completed his medical training at the University Hospitals in Frankfurt and Geneva. In 1955 he qualified as a specialist in orthopedics . In 1958 he was appointed senior physician and in 1959 head of the polyclinic at the Orthopedic University Clinic Friedrichsheim in Frankfurt am Main. From 1965 he was chief physician of the orthopedic clinic and central physical therapy department of the Frankfurt-Höchst City Hospital as well as head of the educational establishments for physiotherapy, occupational therapy and massage.

Bechtoldt was involved in various voluntary work.

  • 1969 to 1986: President of the European Association of Salaried Physicians and Physicians (FEMS - Fédération Européenne des Médecins Salariés)
  • 1973 to 1986: President of the State Medical Association of Hesse
  • 1973 to 1986: Member of the board of the German Medical Association
  • 1977 to 1986: Chairman of the German Academy of Specialists of the German Medical Association
  • 1979 to 1986: President of the European Academy for Advanced Medical Education
