As a corporation under public law , the State Medical Association of Hesse (LÄKH) represents the professional interests of its members in all areas of medical professional practice. It monitors compliance with the professional duties of the Hessian medical profession and, as a service provider, offers advice, information and help. The tasks are defined, among other things, by Section 5 (1) of the Hessian Health Professions Act. The legal supervisory authority is the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration .
organization
Administration and construction
The LÄKH is based in Frankfurt am Main . In addition to the locations of its district medical associations, it is also present in Bad Nauheim , as the Carl Oelemann School and the LÄKH Academy for Medical Training are located there.
Business areas
The LÄKH Presidium conducts the day-to-day business, using the managing directors. LÄKH is divided into three business areas:
- Medical division
- Commercial division
- Legal Office
District Medical Associations
According to § 13 of its main statute, the LÄKH has six district medical associations:
- Darmstadt
- Frankfurt
- to water
- kassel
- Marburg
- Wiesbaden
The district medical association includes the chamber members active in their area and the respective voluntary members . The district medical associations keep registers of the professionals active in their fields. The District Medical Associations act within the scope of the tasks of the State Medical Association of Hesse according to their instructions.
membership
According to the Hessian Health Professions Act, the main statutes of the LÄKH and the reporting regulations of the LÄKH, a distinction is made between mandatory and voluntary membership. Every member is subject to the professional code of conduct for doctors in Hessen.
Compulsory membership
Every doctor is required to work as a doctor in Hesse in accordance with the above. Legislation Mandatory member of the State Medical Association of Hesse. Compulsory membership exists after starting medical practice; the deadlines for registration are regulated by law. Membership is requested from the responsible district medical association. Which district medical association is responsible results from the place of employment of the main activity (see also the information on membership of the LÄKH).
Voluntary membership
If a doctor does not pursue any medical activity and has his / her main residence in Hessen, he / she can become a voluntary member. It is important in this context that this is not regulated in every federal state. In some federal states there is compulsory membership for doctors, regardless of actual medical activity. Voluntary membership is also applied for in Hesse through the associated district medical association. Further information on the subject of voluntary membership can be obtained from the district medical associations.
Contributions
According to Section 1, Paragraph 1 of the contribution regulations of the State Medical Association of Hesse:
“The State Medical Association of Hesse collects contributions from its members to cover the costs it incurs in fulfilling its tasks. The chamber contributions are fees under public law. The contribution year is the calendar year. The fee is an annual fee. "
The contribution amount is based on the annual income from medical work in the year before last and can be found in the annex to the contribution regulations.
Hessisches Ärzteblatt
The Hessisches Ärzteblatt is the official notification organ of the State Medical Association of Hesse. If, for example, the further training regulations for doctors in Hessen have been changed, these changes will be published in the notification organ.
