The State Medical Association of Rhineland-Palatinate is the medical association for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate . It is a corporation under public law with its seat at Deutschhausplatz in Mainz . In November 2018 it became known that the State Medical Association of Rhineland-Palatinate and associated chambers wanted to move to the renovated Eltzer Höfe .

The State Medical Association of Rhineland-Palatinate consists of two organs:

  • Representative assembly (80 members)
  • Board of Directors (President, 2 Vice Presidents, 12 Assessors)

According to Section 5 of the Health Professions Act and Section 24 of the Main Statute, the following District Medical Associations exist, to which the State Medical Association has entrusted, in particular, the provision of pension, invalidity and survivors' benefits for the chamber members:

tasks

The tasks result from Section 3, Paragraph 2 of the Health Professions Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate: They include in particular:

  • Stand up for the preservation of the profession
  • Working towards a collegial relationship between the professionals
  • Regulation of professional practice
  • Monitoring compliance with professional duties
  • Advice to public authorities in setting standards
  • Inform supervisory authorities about the profession
  • Regulation and promotion of further and advanced training
  • Establishment of a training register
  • Review of language skills
  • Perception of the concerns of quality assurance
  • Issue of the electronic health professional ID
  • Issuance of the European professional card
  • Regulation of old age, disability and survivors' benefits
  • Participation in basic and advanced training for other health care professionals
  • Editing / co-editing of newsletters

The State Medical Association of Rhineland-Palatinate hosted the 112th German Medical Conference 2009 in the Mainz Rheingoldhalle . The 123rd German Medical Conference will take place in Mainz from May 18 to 22, 2020.
