Help for people in custody in Büren

The Help for People in Deportation Detention Center in Büren eV is a non-governmental organization that advises deportation detainees in Europe's largest deportation detention center, the Büren JVA . The association also conducts public relations work on issues relevant to refugees. The association was founded in 1994 and is entered in the register of associations at the Paderborn District Court .

The long-standing chairman of the association is Frank Gockel.

Awards

On September 1, 2006, the association was awarded the Aachen Peace Prize. On the grounds that the association has persistently fought from below and with peaceful means against deportation detention for more than ten years and at the same time campaigns very specifically for the people affected - the prisoners.
