Hill climbing is a motorcycle sport that is carried out in difficult terrain . Hill climbing is a motorcycle sport developed in the United States in the 1920s, the goal of which is to conquer a steep mountain or slope. The time required only plays a role if the destination is reached by several drivers. If the mountain is not conquered, the rider who comes highest wins.

Usually different categories are ridden in hill climbing, such as fun or cross. Hill climbing has also gained a foothold in Europe. Hill climbing competitions are held annually in Obersaxen (Switzerland) (European championship), until 2004 on the Teufelsberg in Rachau (Austria), in Andler / Schönberg (Belgium), Mühldorf (Austria), Scharfenstein (Germany) and in France.
