Himesh Jitendra Patel (born October 13, 1990 in Huntingdon , Cambridgeshire ) is a British actor .

Life

Patel gained his first experience as a member of a youth theater group in Peterborough . In 2007 he was cast in the role of Tamwar Masood on the BBC television series EastEnders . There he appeared on the side of Nina Wadia in 566 episodes until 2016 . He took on the same role in the spin-off series EastEnders: E20 . He also wrote the script for an episode of this series with Charlie G. Hawkins and other authors.

After leaving EastEnders , he appeared in two seasons of the sitcom Damned from 2016 to 2018 as a social worker Nitin .

In 2019 he took on the lead role of Jack Malik in Danny Boyle's film Yesterday .
