Course
As course [ Parkur ] (of fr . Parcourir : expire through) is generally referred to a distance with prepared obstacles.
Horses
In show jumping , the sequence of obstacles on a demarcated area or in a hall is called this - as a demarcation to the terrain jumps in versatility on the one hand and individual jumps or jump sequences in training on the other. In a course, the number, height and width of the obstacles as well as the difficulty of the lines and the distances vary depending on the class of the test. The obstacles must be overcome by the individual rider - horse pairs in a fixed order. Before each test, the rider can do a tour of the course, in which he memorises the order of the jumps and paces the distances between the jumps.
dogs
An equivalent use of the term is common in dog sports in agility . As in equestrian sport, the difficulty varies in different test classes, the order of the obstacles is predetermined, and before the course in the test is mastered, an inspection is carried out by the starting dog handlers.
Rabbits
In rabbit hopping , the obstacles are significantly smaller than in horse or dog sports. The rabbits are usually led through the track on a leash. The animal that completes its route in the shortest time with the fewest mistakes is the winner. The tearing of a crossbar or three slight corrections by the rabbit holder are considered errors.
People
People use the course over a fixed distance with a line of obstacles to be overcome as sport-oriented training, as a competition (e.g. obstacle course , 100-meter obstacle course ) or for military and non-military drill (e.g. police , fire brigade) ) Training company. Traditional archers practice the sport of 3D archery on an archery course, which is a circular route through natural terrain, next to which animal figures are set up as targets to be shot.
Finally, the course is also used as a scientific test instrument for diagnosing certain human performance components (see Vienna coordination course ).
