The Hintergebirgsradweg (R9) is an approx. 46 km long circuit in Upper Austria in the Kalkalpen National Park . Much of the route runs on the route of the Reichraming Forest Railway, which was closed in 1971, from Reichraming to Unterweißwasser.

Route

Forest road and bike path on the former forest railway line

It begins in Reichraming at the train station. The path leads through the gorge of the Reichramingbach . On the Anzenbachschranken - Unterweißwasser route, 12 tunnels will be passed (including three with a length of 200–290 m). At Weißwasser , a former mining settlement, the newly developed cycle path ends on the railway line. For the circular route, there are now 200 meters in altitude to overcome over five kilometers. The path then leads via Brunnbach and along the Plaissabach back to Reichraming.
