Hinton Waldrist Castle

Hinton Waldrist Castle is an Outbound castle in the village of Hinton Waldrist , about 12 km north of Wantage in the English county of Oxfordshire (up to 1974: Berkshire ).

The castle was originally a wooden Motte with moat that of the family St Valery after the Norman conquest of England was built 1066th In the later Middle Ages the castle was rebuilt in stone and belonged to the Bohuns , the Earls of Hereford . Mary de Bohun was raised here and married Henry of Bolingbroke , later King Henry IV. Her son, King Henry V , visited the castle frequently in his youth.

Today only earthworks remain.
