The Hippokranet is a German online network of doctors operated by änd Ärztenachrichtendienst Verlags-AG in Hamburg . According to the operator, the network has more than 51,500 registered members (as of August 2013).
A special feature of the Hippokranet is the company's intelligence service for doctors. The editors of the änd around the editor-in-chief and board member Jan Scholz reports on topics from health policy and medicine directly on the platform.
history
The doctor Bernd Guzek laid the foundations for the Hippokranet in 2000 with the news portal Facharzt.de . The occasion was the creation of a neutral and independent information channel for doctors on health policy in Germany. From 2006, the specialist portals came Hausarzt.de , Zänd.de and PrivatMedizin.de added. The affiliated network Hippokranet was created in 2008 for an overarching exchange between community members. The Hippokranet has been bundling the individual news portals since 2010 .
The media entrepreneur Georg Ralle, former head of the Springer medicine publishers , took over the Hippokranet from Bernd Guzek at the beginning of 2013.
According to the annual report of CompuGroup Medical AG , CompuGroup Medical Deutschland AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CGM AG, took control of Dr. Ralle media holding. The original intention to sell the company was abandoned during 2013.
In April 2014, Antese APS took over the majority of the shares. Krüger took over management of the company as CEO. Jan Scholz is still a member of the board. Other shareholders are Jan Scholz and Dr. Georg Ralle. The newly founded company eHealth Business Media AG is responsible for the distribution of the advertising material .
In Hippokranet to public health movements were formed. In 2004 the medical professional association, the Freie Ärzteschaft eV, was founded around its first president Michael Schaufler in the forums from Hippokranet . Aktion 15 attracted further attention with the call for elections against the SPD for the 2009 Bundestag election , which was organized and coordinated by Hippokranet members.
