Liberal no Kai

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Liberal no Kai ( Japanese リ ベ ラ ル の 会 , riberaru no kai , Eng . "Assembly of Liberals") was a faction of the Japanese Democratic Party . The chair was initially held jointly by Hideo Hiraoka and Shōichi Kondō , which is why the group was also referred to as the Hiraoka Kondō group. A core concern of the faction founded in 2004 was the preservation of the "peace article" 9 of the post-war constitution , which some members of both major parties are trying to change, including the Noda group of the Democrats and parts of the Ozawa group . She also advocated greater citizen participation in the political process. The members of the Liberal no Kai were considered to be left within the party, some also belonged to the Yokomichi group of ex-socialists or the Kan group of party co-founder Naoto Kan.
