Skullcap
As calvaria (also skull , skull cap and skull ; latin Calvaria ), the bony roof of the skull , by the sutures associated, flat bones ( bones plana is constructed), respectively.

With its ossa plana, the skullcap forms a protection for the brain located inside . It consists of parts of the following bones:
- Frontal ( frontal )
- Parietal bone ( parietal bone )
- Occipital bone ( Os occipitale )
The bones are connected to one another via sutures and, in children, enclose the two fontanelles .
The skullcap consists of three layers:
- Lamina externa
- Diploe (cancellous bone)
- Internal lamina
