His Best is a compilation album by Howlin 'Wolf and was released as part of the MCA / Chess 50th Anniversary series in 1997.

General

With the exception of His Greatest Sides, Vol. 1 from the early 1980s, there was no collection of Wolf's best recordings on CD. This problem has been remedied with this CD, and it serves as an introduction to Howlin 'Wolf's work.

11 of the 20 songs are either written or co-authored by Willie Dixon . The first two tracks were originally recorded by Sam Phillips , who sold the master tapes to Chess Records.

The album was reissued by Universal in 2001 .
