La7 is a private Italian television station based in Rome , which is part of the so-called third pole after Rai and Mediaset . Until February 2013, La7 belonged to Telecom Italia Media , the media subsidiary of Telecom Italia . Since the beginning of March 2013, the station has been owned by Cairo Communication of the Turin entrepreneur Urbano Cairo , who is also president of the FC Turin football club and has good connections to Silvio Berlusconi .

The program focuses on news programs, political talk shows, self-produced entertainment programs and sport, especially rugby, the Superbike World Cup and the Coppa Italia of football and basketball. Fixed points of the program are the news TG La7 with the main broadcast at 8:00 p.m. Enrico Mentana has been the news anchor since July 2nd, 2010 . At 20:30 followed by a political discussion program, with Otto e mezzo with Lilli Gruber and in onda with Luca Telese replace.

La7 went on air for the first time on June 24, 2001 at 8:30 p.m. Previously, the program from Telemontecarlo was at this station .

La7 started with a show by Fabio Fazio . Among the guests were Pino Daniele , Francesco de Gregori , Giuliano Ferrara , Gad Lerner, Sabina Guzzanti, Geri Halliwell , Neri Marcorè, Vincenzo Montella and Eros Ramazzotti .

On January 24, 2011, the Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi called live on the talk show “L'Infedele” (Italian for “The Infidelity” ) to find out about what , in his opinion, was “disgusting talk show under a contemptuous, filthy and hideous moderation “ To Complain. The show was about a Berlusconi sex affair. The moderator Gad Lerner then described the Prime Minister as an "uneducated proletarian" and "bully" .
