Histoires des Littératures ( French for stories of literatures ) is a French series of books on the history of literature that was published in the Librairie Armand Colin in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century . Renowned scholars have contributed to it. Some of the works included have been translated. Some of the volumes appeared in further, revised and expanded editions. The volume Littérature italienne (Italian literature), for example - which deals with the origins of Italian literature up to Dante's death, the Renaissance, classicism, decadent poetry and the literature of the new Italy - was awarded the Prix ​​Halphen by the Académie française .
