Historical association of the canton of Thurgau
The Historical Association of the Canton of Thurgau, registered as the Historical Association of the Canton of Thurgau, is a historical association in Switzerland in the Canton of Thurgau . It was founded on November 3, 1859 under the presidency of Johann Adam Pupikofer . The association is based in the city of Frauenfeld .
The association is dedicated to researching the Thurgau past as well as communicating the research results to its members and the public in a generally understandable way. This happens through general assemblies with visits, thematic cycles and excursions to destinations at home and abroad. Furthermore undertaken publications: The Thurgauische Urkundenbuch in eight volumes has been completed; the sources on the history of Thurgau appear sporadically. Thurgau's articles on history appear every year (since 1861). The historical association works closely with the Thurgau State Archives , the Thurgau Cantonal Library and the Thurgau Historical Museum .
