Hitradio RT1 Südschwaben

Hitradio RT1 Südschwaben is a local radio based in Memmingen in Upper Swabia, owned by HITRADIO RT1 Südschwaben GmbH. The program is based on a Hot AC format, local reporting and an entertainment-oriented morning program.

The local radio station was originally founded as Radio Prima 1 . Broadcasting began on October 10, 1991. In 2007, the radio station was renamed HITRADIO RT1 Südschwaben. The program director is Katrin Pöpperl.

In 2011 there was a big anniversary party "20 years of radio in Memmingen".

The RT1 editorial team has already won a BLM radio award several times. In 2012 Bettina Tzschirner and Julia Draxler received an award for the "RT1 Allgäuhits". In 2015 there was the main prize for the comedy "Learning Allgäu" and in 2016 Laura Sattelmair won the young talent award for her report about a barrier-free Memmingen. In 2017 Maximilian Auer was able to work for RT1 with his report "School bus chaos in Unterallgäu - RT1 helps!" win the BLM Young Talent Award again.

Since December 3, 2018 RT1-Südschwaben has been digitally terrestrial via the DAB + network 8B of Bayern Digital Radio in large parts of the districts of Oberallgäu, Unterallgäu, Ostallgäu, Lindau, Ravensburg and Biberach.

The technical-analog range is 223,000 listeners.
