St. Patrizius on Leopoldauer Strasse

The Holy. Patrizius is a copy of a stone statue of St. Patrizius from 1722 in a grassy area at the junction of Leopold Auer Street and Patrizigasse in the 21st Viennese district of Floridsdorf .

history

This figure shrine was erected by Otto Ferdinand Herzog in 1722 as a thank you for the successful escape from an attacking poacher . Today there is a copy from 1862 of the original, which is in the Floridsdorf District Museum .

description

A multi- grooved round column stands on a low two-tiered base. There is a cornice on the round column . Above it is a figure of St. Patrizius. He swore the fingers of his right hand to take an oath.

inscription

The following inscription can be read at the foot of the statue: “S. Patrizius ”and“ Stockerau 1862 ”.
