Hochheimer stone
The Rheingau Stein vineyards are located in the area of the Hochheim am Main and Wicker vineyards . The Hochheimer and Wickerer parts are several kilometers apart. The wines can be marketed as Hochheimer Stein and Wickerer Stein . It belongs to the large Daubhaus site in the Rheingau wine-growing region , the Hochheimer part faces south and connects directly above the Queen Viktoriaberg site to the west of Hochheimer Hell . Their size is 27 hectares .
Here you can find sandy to gravelly soils with admixtures of loess . The sandy soils warm up quickly, resulting in early flowering, rapid ripening and a longer growing season. Tertiary marl lies underground .
The soil is well ventilated and provides the vines with water and minerals. The Riesling wines produced here have fruity aromas, are delicate and have a moderate acidity.
