The Hochmuterbahn is a cable car in South Tyrol from Dorf Tirol to Hochmut, from which the name was derived. It has been in operation since 1973 and covers the 1830 meter long route from 680  m slm to 1361  m slm per second it manages 12 meters.

The railway is operated by the Hölzl company.

Location and route

The valley station of the Großkabinenschwebebahn is on a cul-de-sac between the Tiroler Kreuz and the earth pyramids . From there it goes with 2 gondolas (each with a capacity of 21 people) to the mountain station at Hochmut. On the way there, the view is clear to the Passeiertal .

Excursion destinations

Hiking trails lead from the mountain station to the 1522  m slm high Leiteralm , the 1664  m slm high Mutkopf and the 2291  m slm high Mutspitze .
