University commission of the NSDAP

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The University Commission of the NSDAP was founded in July 1934 by Rudolf Hess . The university commission was supposed to centralize the university political decision-making processes within the NSDAP and thereby create a counterweight in the party leadership to the Reich Ministry of Education created a few months earlier .

At times the university commission gained considerable influence, particularly in the medical faculties; however, since 1935 it has lost importance due to internal power struggles. In 1938/39 it stopped its activity. The Munich dermatologist Franz Wirz was the managing director and de facto head of the university commission .
