The Hodgeman Islands are a group of small islands off the George V coast in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the eastern part of Watt Bay they are 6 km west-southwest of Cape De la Motte .
They were discovered by participants in the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911–1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . Mawson named it after Alfred James Hodgeman (1885-1964), cartographer and assistant meteorologist on this research trip.
