Remarks

In the carnival of 1852 Johann Strauss (son) was allowed to play regularly in the Vienna Hofburg at events. This explains the name of this quadrille, which was premiered on the occasion of a court ball. For the composer, appearances in the Hofburg were an important step in his further career. In Vienna this was only possible with the help of a benevolent government. Therefore, the composer tried to forget his earlier sympathies for the revolution of 1848 . In 1863 he was supposed to achieve his desired goal with the appointment as kk court ball music director .

The playing time on the CD listed under itemization is 5 minutes and 12 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
