The Hoffmann Group is a group of companies that is active in the trade and manufacture of tools, operating equipment and personal protective equipment and offers the associated advice and services. The head office is in Munich . The Hoffmann Group employs around 4,000 people and achieved sales of around 1.4 billion euros in 2019.

history

In 1919 Josef Hoffmann founded Hoffmann KG quality tools in Munich. The company building was bombed out in World War II. In the post-war period, his son Franz Hoffmann succeeded in rebuilding. In 1973 the own brand Garant was introduced.

The Hoffmann Group was founded in 1993 together with Hch. Perschmann GmbH from Braunschweig, Gödde GmbH & Co. KG from Cologne and Oltrogge & Co. KG from Bielefeld. SFS from Switzerland was added later. In 2003 the Hoffmann Group was renamed the Hoffmann Group.

Internationalization began in 1995 with license partners in Spain, Switzerland and Slovenia. In 2001 Hoffmann France was founded. The subsidiary in Italy opened two years later. The group is currently active worldwide with a total of 69 branches and partners. It has 440 locations in Europe.

In 2009 the Hoffmann Group opened a new tool logistics center in Nuremberg . In 2012, the company Garant Productions was founded in Reutlingen , which produces factory equipment products. In 2014 a logistics center for factory equipment was opened in Odelzhausen . In June 2017 Hoffmann took over the Berlin start-up Contorion, a digital specialist retailer for craft and industrial supplies, for an estimated sum of 130 million euros.

A foundation has been in operation since 2006 under the motto “Tools create value”. It supports institutions that promote the development of disadvantaged and traumatized children and young people.

Managing directors

After the founder Josef Hoffmann, his son Franz joined the company in 1932. In 1996 he appointed his granddaughter's husband, Bert Bleicher, as his successor. Bleicher headed the Hoffmann Group as managing partner until 2013.
